Boycott BCS Sponsors

I hate the BCS.  It sucks.  I think it is high time all of us sports fans tried to do something about it.

If you don't like the BCS and want a playoff system, join me and do something about it.  Boycott the BCS Bowl Game Sponsors.

The BCS is all about money.  The money comes from the bowl game sponsors.  If the sponsors think they are getting hurt by supporting the BCS, they pull the money.  When the money slows, then maybe the powers that be will look at a playoff.

In addition to boycotting the BCS sponsors, send them a note letting them know what you are doing.  That way, they will that their bad earnings were not due to the bad economy; they will know that their bad earnings were due to sportsline users pissed about the continued laughingstock that is the BCS.

Sponsors and Alternatives

- FED EX (Orange and BCS Title Game) - Ship UPS or US Mail.  This is especially good for those of you that ship stuff for business (and have a choice).  Keep this in mind for holiday shipping.  And if you are shopping on line, make sure you check something other than Fed Ex if you have a choice.

- Citibank (Rose Bowl) - Sure, there were a lot more banks a few weeks ago, but there is still chase, bank of america, the local credit union.  And stop using your credit cards (good for you anyway)

- All State (Sugar Bowl) - This is a crappy unethical company anyway.  If you have home or car insurance with all state, you are already a sucker and be looking elsewhere.

- Tostitos (Fiesta) - This is a tough one since Frito-Lay snacks are so dominant in the market.  You could go with regional chip companies (JAYS, HERRS). At the same time, Frito Lay is owned by Pepsi.  So, what you can do is drink coke products.  And cutting down on the chips never hurt anyone
